My students have emotional and educational special needs. I am working hard to create an environment that supports the students' needs. The literacy activities, stamps, pillows, and other items that I have chosen for the donation will help to engage the students in learning how to read and write.
I teach in a behavioral program in a large school district.
This is a new position for me. I am working tirelessly to establish the new classroom and add the necessary materials to my room so that my students have a greater chance at success. My students are kindergarten and first graders. Each of my kiddos are unique and talented. They each struggle with the ability to deal with their emotions, especially in large group settings. I am lucky to have a small number of students. Right now I have five boys in my classroom with the likelihood of having a total of ten students by the end of the school year. I will continue working hard to get the items that my students need in order to grow and prosper.
My Project
The items that I have chosen will help my students become more engaged in reading. I have found that my students struggle with learning to read because they do not have the support at home. Most of my boys do not have anyone reading to them outside of school. The kids need fun, hands-on activities to help them become excited about learning to read.
I am working to gather necessary materials for my new classroom.
Donations to this project will help my classroom become more equipped with the activities and materials that my students need. The games and hands-on activities will help my students become more engaged and excited in learning. My young learners will look forward to language arts time when they are able to use the new alphabet stamps, rhyming games, and phonics games. The set of pillows will entice the students to relax and read.
