Getting Ready For A Safari Year In First Grade!

My students need classroom supplies such as books, markers, headphones, etc. I am moving to a new room and would like to provide my students an inviting and engaging classroom environment.

My Students

My students are the reason I teach...they teach me as much as I teach them.

They remind me why I fell in love with this profession.

I am moving grade levels and going to first grade for the 2018-2019 year. I am so excited!

I smile every time I see my future kids in the hallway. They are so special to me because they get to help me learn a new grade level. The students are all unique in their own way. They have different personalities, likes, home-life, needs, etc. I can't wait to get to know them and build a relationship with every single one.

My Project

I am moving to a new grade level for the 2018-2019 school year. I am re-doing my whole classroom.

I want my first graders to walk into my safari and feel welcomed, safe, and engaged to learn!

Our classroom theme will be a safari/jungle room.

Since I am moving to first grade from fourth grade, I am in need of many new supplies to support my first graders education. The books I requested will be in our reading station. I made sure to research the interest of first graders and chose popular books. The kids will be able to choose books to read to practice their fluency while they are in stations.

I am also requesting markers and erasers because the students will use these frequently in stations and as a whole group. I like for the students to use the markers to write their answer on the desk so I can walk around and take a formative assessment.
