This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Vince Lombardi said, "football is a great deal like life in that it teaches that work, sacrifice, perseverance, competitive drive, selflessness and respect for authority is the price that each and every one of us must pay to achieve any goal that is worthwhile," and my students need these qualities.
My students attend an inner city middle school in Georgia.
They live in a low socio-economic area. 100% of the school receives free lunch. These students are underprivileged and most do not have the funds to participate in sports. The school is not able to provide the equipment needed for students to play sports.
My Project
We need two netbooks, basketballs, soccer balls and kickballs to start their health and fitness wellness plan. The sports equipment will be used to teach children how to play soccer, volleyball and baseball. The technology will enable students to take there blood pressure; teaching them the role of target heart rate and physical activity. The Netbook will be used by the students to track their performance progress in weight loss. They will also be able to research and create play books.
The benefits of sports in middle school is never ending.
The students gain knowledge that can be used in the school as well as effective coworkers. Sports use math, science, physical fitness and team building.
