This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 36 students in my class who are 6 and 7 years old. I teach in a collaborative classroom. Our school is located in a high poverty area, and all students at my school receive free breakfast and lunch. Even though my students do not come from the best home life, they come in each and every day very eager to learn. We spend just about every day on the floor working on our reading and math skills. We learn our skills through games and activities. My students really love the hands-on activities that we have been fortunate to be able to do.

My Project

My students would love to have the math manipulatives and center games to enhance our math center time. We use the double dice a lot during our addition and subtraction units. This is also the time when we would use the addition and subtraction flipbooks and the snap and slide number bonds. My student would love to have the opportunity to use these types of things in their math centers. My students seems to enjoy learning so much more when they are playing games while learning.

We recently got two light tables, but we don't have a lot to use with them.

My students would love to have the light table manipulative set to use with the tables. This would be another way we could make our center more enjoyable for the students.
