Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a Title l district where most of the students come from low-income households and they are very limited to the resources in the classroom.
Every day when my students arrived to the classroom they are full of energy and anxious to see what is in store for them.
I teach 5th grade dual language and many of my students read at different grade levels. I would love to provide a welcoming classroom for them where they feel loved and welcomed.
My Project
I have wonderful students in my classroom who love Spanish guided reading, English guided reading, and Math Power Grouping, but it is very difficult for all of their work to be organized.
These materials will improve our organization so much during small groups where my students receive instruction at their own level that the transitions will be shorter and the instruction will take longer.
My students currently do not count with a mailbox and adding one to the classroom will be very beneficial when sending papers home and homework. The work organizer will help my students by filling their papers per group during Math Power Groping and just having everything handy when needed. The library will be used during small group as well to display that books that are being read. The paper trays will be use to organize all of our A-Z Books for guided reading, so that the students are not looking for paper in their desks and/or bookbags.
