Help me give my students get their classroom back from Hurricane Lane. We are asking for some flexible seating tables and LEGO’s to provide them with STEM opportunities.
As a teacher in the public school, we are forced to make what we have work for our students. Our classroom is special because we are a inclusion kindergarten classroom. An inclusive classroom is a general education classroom in which students with and without disabilities learn together!
Our classroom is special because each student is unique.
This allows students from different backgrounds to come together to collaborate and share their bright ideas! Everyday my students come into my classroom eager to learn and share their ideas with their friends. We follow our school’s mission, preparing our students for today and tomorrow by providing strong academic and emotional foundations.
My Project
On August 25, 2018 we discovered our classroom was severely flooded from Hurricane Lane. We are in the process of rebuilding our classroom into a safe and positive learning environment which it once was. Currently, my students are sharing a classroom with another class putting 40 students and 2 teachers in a classroom.
We are hoping to rebuild our classroom as soon as possible so we can to get our classroom back!
A lot of work is needed, such as changing the carpet, checking for mold and mildew, and painting. The students are handling the situation as best as they can, but I would like to get our classroom back to a place where they can feel safe once again. We are seeking flexible seating options and a STEM LEGO table to enhance our learning environment.
