My students need book boxes and proper shelving to store their independent reading books during reading workshop. By having these pieces added to our room, students will be able to easily access organized reading materials.
I am a second grade teacher in Worcester, MA. For the 2018-2019 school year, I am anticipating a classroom of 30 diverse students who have varying academic needs that I will be striving to meet. Due to recent budget cuts within our district, the second grade in my school is losing a classroom. We are going from three rooms to two. With a larger class size comes the need for more materials and storage to accommodate everyone. There are students who receive special education services in my classroom, as well as English language learners. Every student brings something special to our classroom community. I work hard to accommodate and reach all of my students and their diverse ways of learning in my classroom each day. We greatly appreciate any and all donations made to help our classroom! Your kind donation will make a difference in my classroom this coming school year.
My Project
The materials that are being requested in this classroom project will all help me to better prepare and organize my materials for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year, where I will my class size will be increasing significantly. From book bins for students to store their independent reading books for reading workshop, shelving to store classroom library books and learnings tools, and storage systems to organize writing and math centers— each of these items will greatly impact the setup of my classroom and the accessibility of materials needed for second graders to gain independence in their work and learning.
It is important no matter what the class size may be, to always have an organized classroom, but with a potential class list of 30 incoming second graders, I want to be sure that I have all of the means necessary to set them up for a successful year.
Your donation to my classroom project will help me receive some items such as furniture and storage that are not possible to get within our school budget, but are crucial to setting a classroom up for success. I appreciate any contribution you can make and my students do, too!
