This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Third grade, is where I believe is a truly magical age group. I teach third grade at a Title 1 school where most of our students come from low income, well meaningful families. These students try really hard to overcome the adversities of their poverty. We need extra help from people who believe that the children are our future.
It was when I was in the third grade, that a wonderful teacher made a difference in my life. It was then that I decided to become at teacher. I teach at that very school hoping to make a small difference.
My students are really hard workers, however, not all of them are able to get the supplies needed to be successful at school. The supplies the we are requesting: binders, paper, markers, and pencils would be used to help the student be successful and to get the new school year started off right.
Some extra help is needed from caring individuals. We are in need of writing supplies. Last school year, three out of the 23 students that were in my class had binders in order to organize their work. This year I have decided that I would try my best to get one of these for each of my students. This would ensure that each student would have the supplies needed to start the school year off with confidence.
Your help will ensure that my students have these supplies. Without the help from great supporters and believers such as yourself, my students struggle just to feel confident that they have what they need to do the job. Many thanks to you.
