I need a teacher pick-me-up so I can be more engaging and make the second grade curriculum come to life in my classroom.
This project expired on May 23, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
In my classroom each year, my students become more and more active and full of energy. They love to learn using hands-on experiences and movement. My students are bright, fun, and very creative.
My goal is to make learning more engaging for the students than I did the year before.
With that being said, it is important that I have a bucket full of ideas to draw from so that I can make the learning environment more exciting. It is my goal to incorporate what the children love and connect it to the curriculum in the class such as: video games, technology, sports, movies, and characters in favorite books.
Every year I strive to learn engaging strategies so I can bring excitement into my classroom of seven and eight year olds. Each summer I research, plan, and prepare new ways to approach the standards in my class and this summer is no different.
I would like to attend the "Get Your Teach On" National Conference to learn innovative and exciting ways to bring the curriculum to life.
The main instructors for this conference, Hope and Wade King, are two of the inspiring teachers that I love to learn from through their blog called "Elementary Shenanigans" and their book, "The Wild Card." This conference is where I will get to not only learn directly from them, but I will be able to talk with them and ask questions about how I can improve my teaching.
