Help me give my students access to "just right" books and a beautiful mobile cart to house them. I have many students who need books with an easier reading level- let's get those books in their hands!
Mira Vista students represent one of the most diverse groups of young people in the country. In our school, families come from all walks of life, and we come together for school each day. Our students are special because we have such a strong sense of community and inclusion here. We have a growth mindset, and we remember that mistakes are opportunities to learn more than we ever thought possible. At our school, adults work hard to make every student feels welcomed and valued. In return we see awesome kids working hard, persisting and supporting each other!
My Project
In our class, we are building a culture of reading by surrounding ourselves with great books. In order for my students fall in love with their books, they need to have books that are "just right", or on their reading level so that they can truly access the content of the book. I strive to have a classroom full of inviting books, but lately I have realized that I am truly in need of more books for my students reading far below grade level.
This project will help bring new life to my classroom library by offering wonderful leveled books to my students.
This will ensure my students most in need will be able to find books they can read. I want all my students to discover the love of books. This project will help propel us in that positive direction.
