Help me give my students the ETA hand2mind Daily Math Fluency Kit with Number Strings, Math Talks for 2nd grade!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Established in 1979, our school provides educational and support services for children with hearing or vision loss in our school system. Some of the students have additional challenges that magnify the impact of the vision or hearing loss. Each of the students has special needs and requires extensive technology and assistance to succeed in a school setting.
Students attend classes at one of three locations: the elementary, middle, or high school campus.
In addition, itinerant services are provided throughout our county for students whose disability is not severe enough to require full-time placement at one of the campuses. Services are also provided in several area counties.
Math is such an important life skill for all students to learn. They can use basic addition and subtraction in counting money, cooking, working, etc. Having a strong foundation in Math will increase my students success in life and academics!
This kits provides everything from the manipulatives, the teachers guide, and activity flip books for 2nd grade Math skills.
These materials target subitizing, counting on and back, using five and ten, using doubles, get to ten, use ten and adjust, and use known facts. They provide the students with the manipulatives to learn these skills and step by step visual instructions for the students. These kits are designed to be used in classroom centers, which is perfect for our classroom! After whole group lessons we break off into small groups and have center time. This allows for individual learning and giving me time to walk around and monitor the students comprehension of the lessons.
Having these materials will only ensure that my students grasp basic addition and subtraction and by the end of the year are ready to take on 3rd grade Math!
