Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a Special Education teacher who loves to make sure my kids are always prepared for their day. My students love to learn and always try their best to stay focused during the day. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.
Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
They like to move, they love to read and love lots of positive attention. Many of them are being raised in single-parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical." From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and strive to give them the best of me.
My Project
I am requesting an Acer Chromebook that has touch screen and, along with our school internet, my students will be able to look up recipes and other ways that they can be healthy in 2018. We are also requesting some snacks and cutlery to help us to stay full throughout the day while we are learning.
We are hoping to research new recipes that we can bring home to our families to try at home!
Technology will make our minds healthy!! Snacks help keep our bodies fueled!
We are requesting goldfish, granola bars, and oatmeal as some healthy snacks to help keep us fit and satisfied for the new year.
