Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are first graders who have a passion for learning. They are eager to start their day at school every morning. My students are building their reading skills and are improving each and every single day.
My students do not have access to many needs outside of our school.
Providing my students with as much as I can means the world to me.
Seeing my students grow as learners is very rewarding and fulfilling. I hope to inspire my students to be lifelong learners.
My Project
My first graders will be able to focus on learning in a comfortable setting. My students will be able to pick an option that helps them learn best. With avoiding the first grade "wiggles in our seats", this will allow for more time on learning and growing. My students don't have access to many means and I want their classroom to be an escape for them. Most importantly, I want my students to feel safe and comfortable. With allowing them to pick a seating option that works best for them, this will allow them to become responsible for their learning.
These materials such as the seating balls will allow learners to be able to move freely and get any "wiggles out".
Our stools will allow for the students to move freely and work to the best of their ability. Children should be comfortable working and if that means working on the floor, then I will try my best to give them the best floor spot. I can't wait for my students to come into a lively classroom and seeing their joy over colorful big pillows or bean bag chairs that some of them have never seen before.
