My students need a sit and reach flexibility tester. This flexibility tester will help us become appropriately equipped in our classroom!
This project expired on February 21, 2015.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Every season our students participate in the Presidential Fitness Challenge. Every season, we use old, make shift equipment that does not allow for proper assessments. The students will feel more proud of themselves when they see the difference having new equipment can make.
Our middle school students are actively engaged in each class and lesson.
With limited equipment it can be difficult to appropriately assess and test the students during the Presidents Fitness Challenge. Many of our students are involved in after school sports and recreation and it would be extremely beneficial to be able to supply these kids with the right equipment to use during class.
The students will be utilizing the sit and reach flexibility box as a way to test their flexibility during the Presidential Fitness Challenge. Each month, our students will be assessed on improvements in flexibility. Right now, we are using two rulers taped together as a makeshift flexibility box. Having the real sit and reach box would allow us to make greater gains with each student and hopefully allow them to spark more interest and motivation to do better each day.
Donations will allow the students to perform at their best while feeling confident in their abilities.
Our students are so used to using old, handed down equipment that they do not know what good equipment looks like. This will change our students perspective of equipment and resources we use for the better.
