My Students

Here at our school, Physical Education is the absolute best place to be! Students get to move, run, and learn new motor skills to be competent in various sports and fitness activities.

I teach at an inner city school of about 900 students.

Half of our students receive free or reduced lunch. There are roughly 20 different languages spoken at our school. I have never been to or seen a more diverse school than this one. I tried my best to reach all students to make them feel safe, comfortable, and in shape during my PE classes.

My Project

We are working towards inspiring students, faculty, and parents to live a lifetime of fitness by creating a new workout room. The emphasis on exercise is part of the school's attempt to combat childhood obesity. By introducing students to regular exercise at a young age, they can instill habits that will remain with them for a lifetime.

We would like to recreate our gym storage area to create the ultimate fitness room for as many people as possible.

We will start by painting the walls and getting the room ready for rubber flooring. We then want to incorporate different materials, equipment, and machines to maximize this space. For this project, I am only requesting 1 rowing machine.

This room will be used by all students in the building. We will be starting before and after school fitness intramurals which will be open for students and staff.
