Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are 4th graders at a Title 1 school. Our school was presented this year with the Golden Bell Award for our Safe and Civil procedures. We are very proud of this award that we earned by providing the students with structure and procedures that they follow daily on our campus.
Our student are economically and ethically diverse.
They love coming to school and are enthusiastic about learning everyday. They love exploring and learning new concepts. I am always looking for new ways to challenge them. They are our future and I want to be able to set them up to succeed.
My Project
Having a class set of dividers will help students keep their eyes on their own paper while testing. It helps me better assess my students and where they are academically by giving the students a way to protect their responses. Therefore the tests will be an accurate representation of what each student knows.
Giving the students flexible seating options can help those that have trouble sitting in a traditional chair and desk setup succeed.
The reading chair and the bean bag would also give them options for where they can sit and read a book in our class library. The bean bag chair and reading chair will provide students with new places to complete their assignments.
