Help me give my students more choice during their choice time. We have been using some handed down items which have served us well but we really need to replenish and expand our table toy options.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are brave. My students are a quintessential representation of inspiration and they are only four years old. Growing up in a predominately poverty-stricken neighborhood in Baltimore, my students are met with dangers and uncertainties on a regular basis. This never stops them however, from coming to school and trying their very best. I have never had a group of students so concerned about turning in their family projects and homework. They are eager to learn, caring. and compassionate towards myself and their classmates. Together we have become a team, we teach one another and love one another through the hardships life has given us.
My Project
These materials will greatly help to spruce up our choice time. As of right now, it is becoming evident that students are becoming bored with using the same materials and although some of the materials are items we already have, like the Magna-Tiles, I have added extension packs to the list, like cars to pump up the excitement in that area. I am definitely a firm believer in using what you have but these items will greatly help us to enhance the materials we are currently using. I am excited to see all the new creative ideas and projects my students will build, using the new materials.
