This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My class is a great group of students. They are a mixture of black, Hispanic and white all coming from a high poverty area. My students attend a Title 1 school and work hard to overcome many obstacles.
My students are an awesome group of kids who love coming to school and learning new things.
As a way of learning we work in small groups with hands-on-materials. This helps the kids make connections while learning social skills.
Several of my students are in tier reading and math which provides them even more support. There is nothing more rewarding than to see a struggling student grasp a concept and walk away with a smile on their face.
My Project
The world of coding starts younger and younger. Unfortunately with students mainly arriving from a lower economic background, they are less likely to be exposed to this type of activity; putting them at a stark disadvantage.
By donating to our project, you will help to open the door to a whole new world and help to increase not only student attention but academic achievement as well.
With coding materials at their finger tips students will learn cause and effect, directional language, and simple coding. These building blocks could set the foundation for a future full of new opportunity and advancement.
