Upon entering my classroom, every student is greeted with a smile and a handshake. They occasionally come in with a beaming smile or that just crawled out of bed look. Regardless of their morning start, each student daily contributes something unique to our class family.
Many of my students come from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
This combination establishes a team-oriented environment that enables my students opportunities to learn about each other and from one another. Most importantly, it allows me the chance to engage and learn from them. In situations where language barriers are challenging, communication is still the key. There's nothing more rewarding than to see the smile on a child's face after discovering their own success, or the tears coming from a proud parent who looks at you and speaks two simple words: Thank you. When languages are hard to understand, some forms of communication are universally understood.
My students enter my room starting a new journey each day. They encourage one another to do their best and strive to achieve goals by working collaboratively. They have a huge heart and a creative personality to match it!
My Project
Students can face many obstacles in the classroom. Many challenges begin at home and continue to school.
I strongly believe in giving students the tools they need to be successful.
These sensory aids will give children the ability to focus to instruction and participate in collaborative activities. I believe many students would benefit greatly from stress balls or sensory aids to increase focus and decrease anxiety. I also feel wiggle seats and chair bands will assist those students struggling with built up energy.
With the proper sensory aids, I believe that ALL my students will have the tools to succeed.
