The 22 students in my room participate in an all day kindergarten program in Delano, Minnesota. Students in my classroom have unique needs that when combined as a class make us a cohesive unit that strives to have fun while learning.
My kindergartners in my classroom love to explore new concepts, play creatively, and become problem solvers.
The kindergartners in my classroom are challenged through academics and show growth in their social and emotional skills. Each child is an individual with valuable strengths that I help to grow throughout the school year. We will embrace challenges together and work together as problem solvers. I look forward to working with 22 new kindergartners and encourage their learning all school year.
My Project
Kindergartners learn best when incorporating movement into all aspects of their day. I want to implement flexible seating in my classroom. I plan to allow my students opportunities to learn while choosing where they would like to sit in my classroom. Wobble stools will allow students to move while completing work at their table spots. Sit spots will allow students to choose a space that works for them while learning in front of the SMARTBoard.
Through flexible seating and choice, students will be able to choose what fits their learning style.
The products that I have chosen for my DonorsChoose.org project will allow the kindergartners in my room to move their bodies while learning. The choice of different seating options will allow the kindergartners to choose seating options that allow wiggles.
