Ms. Murray from Orlando FL is requesting professional development through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
I need the opportunity to attend the Get Your Teach On Conference in Charlotte,NC to continue my professional development as an educator.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Our school welcomes students from various diverse backgrounds. Together, we form a community and classroom culture that cultivates the love for learning. Our Title I school has a high percentage of children from a low income families where all of our students receive free school breakfast and lunch.
However the lack of funds does not affect their eagerness to learn.
My students are an amazing group of future leaders and are constantly wondering and inquiring about the world around them.
I am hoping to learn many new and unique strategies from experienced educators during the conference that will help my students in the areas of math, science, literacy, reading, and writing.
I will have the chance to learn research-based strategies for student engagement, classroom management, as well as reading, math, writing, and vocabulary instruction.
The conference is led by Deanna Jump, Hope King, Wade King, Amy Lemons, and other expert presenters who will share their passion and enthusiasm for education. I cannot wait to learn some new tips, tricks, best practices, and other teacher secrets to building a successful and engaging classroom.
I know that I will leave GYTO feeling empowered, challenged, motivated, equipped, and prepared to create dynamic and engaging lessons that will challenge my students and leave them hungry for more.
I hope to bring back ideas to create fun, exciting, and rigorous lessons filled with strategies, room transformations, and hands-on activities that can be used across all subject areas. I will also be able to come back to my school and share what I have learned so they can implement these strategies with their students. These funds will go towards my registration fee. Thank you so much for considering my project!
