Mrs. Kelley from Fayetteville NC is requesting professional development through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
I need to provide my students with new, exciting and rigorous teaching techniques by attending a professional development opportunity that will provide engaging lessons for my second grade students.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds as well as a variety of learning styles. Each student has their strengths in my classroom and it is a privilege to watch them grow and cultivate that strength throughout the entirety of the school year.
I want to be able to use new teaching techniques to allow each student to grow to their fullest potential while in my classroom.
It is imperative that each of my students feel confident in themselves as learners so for me as their teacher to be able to have different techniques to teach them would ensure each of them is learning exactly how they learn best, thus improving that confidence.
I have a passion for education, both in educating young minds as well as continuing to educate myself. I want every single student to leave my classroom with a greater understanding of who they are as a person as well as who they are as a learner.
The professional development I would attend would give me specific best teaching practices in all content areas. The conference is two full days that are jam packed with best practices, new ways to engage students, and a lot of hands on experiences that will directly benefit each and every student in my classroom for years to come!
My participation in this conference will allow me to bring back exciting new teaching techniques that will be rigorous and engaging for all of my second grade students.
As a teacher, I am constantly learning and challenging myself while trying my best to actively engage every learner.
