I have been a first grade teacher for 6 years. I teach in a public school where I'm presented with students from varying backgrounds. I have students who are performing below grade level to students who are performing two grades above grade level.
I'm very passionate and dedicated to my students and teaching.
I get excited when my students accomplish something they didn't think was possible. I get so excited when I see my students grow not only as a student, but as a person! I love seeing them become life long learners.
I love when my students come to school and they tell me that they love learning! I think some of the exciting things we have going on in our classroom are the different differentiation pieces. The students have a specific math station based on their learning level. The students are also differentiated by reading strategies.
I try to find different activities to do, per subject, that engage the students and want them wanting to learn more. I want my students to fall in love with learning and feel accomplished by meeting their goals.
My Project
I will learn the different tips, tricks, best practices, and teacher secrets to building a successful and engaging classroom. My learning experience from this conference will help provide rigorous activities and engagement for all students. This will help provide a challenging, but engaging environment for learning.
I will learn to create lesson plans that will challenge my students and leave them craving for more.
I will apply this by creating engaging and rigorous lessons and empowering my students to be motivated and successful! My students will fall in love with learning and be challenged in all areas. This will make the learning environment exciting and successful!
