I need transportation, lodging, food and conference fees to enhance the student engagement in my classroom after attending the Get Your Teach On National Conference.
Every day when I go to work I feel extremely lucky to be able to teach and learn with the students in my class. I look forward to their smiles as they walk through the door each morning. In each of my 9 years teaching, I've had the opportunity to teach students from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds, as well as students that represent the diverse cultures that we have in our city.
My students are eager to learn and look forward to the engaging and rigorous lessons that we participate in every day.
Throughout my teaching career, I have taught in schools that range in socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. Many come from difficult backgrounds and school is the only constant in their life. It gives me great joy to see students eager to learn and be active participants in their learning. I also have a variety of students with special learning needs. Each of their backgrounds and prior experiences contribute to our classroom environment and make our class an extremely great place to be!
My Project
The Get Your Teach On conference is a professional development opportunity unlike any other. I will get to spend 2.5 days with passionate educators from around the country to partake in an extremely engaging, high energy teacher training. Teachers leave Get Your Teach On feeling empowered, motivated, and prepared to create highly engaging lessons for their students.
Students don't always find school "fun," but when we provide an engaging environment for them to learn in and the school culture changes, they are going to be more invested in the content.
Getting the opportunity to attend this conference, I will gain useful tools and strategies to ensure my students are engaged in my classroom. The presenters at this conference are full of energy and amazing ideas to make engaging learning relevant to the students and make them feel appreciated and valued.
I would love to learn from these amazing, passionate teachers and find new ways to bring the magic into my classroom. I also look forward to bringing back ideas to share with my colleagues.
