Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a low income, free and reduced lunch background. They are primarily Hispanic and their families work minimum wage jobs. At 6 years old, they have seen and dealt with more things than I care to imagine.

I hope to be a bright light they see every day, knowing that someone cares about them.

These students are ready and eager for challenge, but need a teacher to put in the extra effort for them. They are well below grade level in most academic areas, as well as social emotionally. Each day is another day to show them I care and want them to succeed!

My Project

This conference will allow me to dig deep into my practice and reignite my passion for teaching. The first few years are rough and take some adjustment, but I am ready to ignite massive action and change in my classroom. This amazing opportunity to collaborate and network with other professionals in the field from ALL over the country is unreal. I will learn so much and get butterflies thinking about the impact this will have. This conference is costly, but with your help, I can truly help myself to in turn help a future generation that needs a passionate, thoughtful, and effective teacher!
