I have a wonderful group of 23 first graders from a rural area in central Arkansas. It is a diverse group of personalities and backgrounds that include ELLs. Greater than 50% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Our students are from military families, have special needs, and most importantly, are awesome kids who are eager to learn!
My first graders are brimming with enthusiasm and excitement for learning, life, friends, and interests.
We jump into projects with both feet, make big plans, work at a breakneck pace, and don't miss a thing!
My Project
I am asking for registration, transportation, hotel, and a meal stipend to attend the National Get Your Teach On Conference in Dallas this summer with some of my colleagues. The Get Your Teach On Conference is four days of learning from some of the most innovative leaders in education. I'm going into year 9 of teaching. I would love to be refreshed and take my teaching to the next level and also bring additional rigor and engagement to my classroom. This conference covers a variety of content areas including math, reading, writing, STEM, and social studies.
I consider myself a lifelong learner, and I'm thrilled to add new tools to my teacher belt.
This training will refresh, empower, motivate, and prepare me to challenge and engage my new group of students next fall.
