My students need music to encourage them keep moving. The sound system and cameras will help us record our activities and share with other schools.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students get so excited and engaged when hearing music. They also are innovative and create many types of projects such as podcasts, videos to use in the gym and project on a screen. They learn to make healthy choices and continue being active for a lifetime
I teach high school and one middle school class.
We are an International IB school so students are encouraged to create projects and learn best with innovative teaching strategies. We are diverse in ethnic and socialeconomic backgrounds, yet students are exemplary in their academic skills. The school is a public charter school so our student population is from all over the school district.
My Project
I have been recognized nationally for my innovative teaching: PBS teacher or the year and other national awards. All this to say that I strive to use the most current teaching strategies to engage my students. My students create innovative projects to use in the gym such as exercise videos to project on a screen while exercising on spin bikes, or other equipment. Thank you so much for this consideration. Engaging students in PE classes is a challenge.
In order to motivate them, I like for music to be playing to set the tone. Most of my students do not have access toitesm such as these cameras and other technology devices, so it is important for me to be able to provide them with this equipment. In doing so, they are not only exposed to them, but they are able to create projects. This is part of the 21st Century teaching that I use in my classes. Students are able to be creative and learn skills for real world life.
