My second graders are a lively, silly, and happy bunch. They start each day by showing off their goofy dance moves, and by sharing their latest stories. They are always smiling, and eager to learn.
My ultimate goal is to bestow a love of learning onto each child, and show them that learning can be fun.
We use songs, hands-on activities, and movement to master the skills we are working on each week. I would love to continue to provide them with all the resources and materials they need to truly succeed!
My students love to read, and I love to introduce them to a variety of books and topics. They are always eager to hear a new story, or search through the stories within my library. The book Tornado by Betsy Byars offers my students an opportunity to extend their knowledge, and connect to the information we learn in our unit on storms.
By providing this book to my classroom, you will open another world for my students to dive into.
They will be able to read and listen to an engaging story, while practicing many important reading skills: cause/effect, sequencing, story elements, author's purpose, and etc.
