My Students

We are an awesome group of very curious, energetic Montessori students in an urban public school system that is economically challenged. Students need that hands-on experience to better understand new ideas and concepts. Students enjoy exploring their academic world through materials that allow them to make connections and manipulate new concepts. They work hard and understand that they are responsible for their own learning. These students come from all different backgrounds and abilities which makes for a very rich learning environment.

My Project

HELP!!! We are all very tired of sharpening our pencils on little handheld plastic devices. Students try to prepare for the day with a few good, sharp pencils. Twenty kids hanging over the trash cans with their tiny plastic sharpeners, shavings flying, and lead breaking is not the way to start our day! Think of all that precious brain time squandered on such a mundane task! Enter electric devices and bzzzzzt...pencils sharp and ready to conquer complex paragraphs, in-depth research, and complex equations! We need help! The teacher also needs a smooth transition to the white board with some new dry erase markers. Communication is everything!
