Help me give my students endless amounts of gross motor practice by using the Gonge Hilltops, Riverstones and other indoor gross motor toys in a fun, engaging, and safe way!
The half-day preschool students in my class are a mixed age group of 3-5-year-olds who live in a high poverty area. My students' learning levels are quite diverse. This class is part of a crucial plan to help prepare them physically, socially, and emotionally for learning. They are developing foundational skills as they prepare themselves for learning in the kindergarten classroom and beyond.
Preschool students are active and engaged learners who excel by using all learning modalities.
My Project
The development of a child's gross motor skills is important to enable children to perform everyday functions such as: walking, hopping, and running. However, they are crucial for everyday self-care skills like dressing and climbing up and down stairs. Currently, our school building is under construction without a multipurpose room. My students have little access to explore these types of gross motor activities.
By incorporating the daily use of Gonge Hilltops, Riverstones, and other exciting gross motor toys, students will get gross motor practice and quality exercise while building endurance to cope with a full day of school.
These gross motor tools are quite versatile and can be used indoors and outdoors by all ability levels.
Teamwork and cooperative play will be enhanced while strengthening balance and agility in an exciting and engaging way!
