Help me give my students great sound to get them moving to the music with the BOSE S1 Portable PA Speaker during socially-distanced outdoor P.E., Sports and Games. Improves mental and physical health.
I teach Sports & Games/P.E. to all students in our small K-8 public charter school nestled in an upland rainforest in rural Wast Hawai'i Island. We share two campuses that are currently closed to most students due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are working on giving lessons to small groups on campus and next year we look forward to reopening to socially distanced outdoor P.E. activities using the sound systems funded by this project. Our school provides a strong sense of community, we are a learning village where teachers know all of the children and families.
My students are filled with energy and roaring to learn.
Many of them live far away from school and have to commute far distances to get to classes. When in-person, my students are eager to do sports and games, but it is especially hard in these stay-at-home times. They need coaching and music to get them motivated to get away from screens and into the field with fun movement and games that are amplified over the field.
My Project
This speaker will make it possible for students to hear the music and instruction for socially-distanced PE classes when our campus re-opens to hybrid learning next semester. Students have been cooped up at home since March, and will be eager to do sports together when we get them back to school face-to-face. However, WE MUST KEEP THEM AT LEAST 6' APART. I will be creating a socially-distanced athletics grid, so for a class of 20 kids it will cover an area over a 100 sq. yards. The kids in the back will not be able to hear without a PA system. Please help!
