Help me give my students fun and engaging stories to read. The Mo Willems Gerald and Piggie set would be amazing as its the perfect beginning reader tool and they are just hilarious.

"Can a children's book save the world? No, BUT the young people who read them can." Linda Sue Park
As the librarian, I see every student in my school.
Some of my students love reading and literally drink up books; they cannot get enough. Others are searching for their special niche that will ignite that spark. In the library, they get to choose what they read. Not their parents or their teachers or even me, it's all about empowering them to find what brings them joy.
My Project
My kids love coming to the library. Its a joy to welcome them and I can see their excitement. Right now our picture book collection is very outdated and needs new life. I have been using the public library to bring in engaging read aloud books but my students can't take those home. I love reading picture books to all my students (even the 6th graders) and they are a great teaching tool. I recently used a Piggie and Gerald book to teach intonation and predictions. But mostly its just wonderful to have fun books to read. That's where the magic of reading changes lives.
