My Students

I teach 18 students that love to learn. They try their best at anything you give them. My class consist of a high amount of students that come from a lower income household. Several students are lower learners and takes more small group or 1 on one instruction time throughout the day. I have several ESL students in my class that are working to learn English. My goal is to get these students the materials they need to reach their best potential and set a rigorous learning environment.

My Project

Help me build the love for reading and learning through books for my Kindergarten students. Interactive read a loud lessons are a big part of a kindergarten reading block.

I am asking for books that can help my students make text connections, inferences, and predictions.

My students can dive into the ocean with the sharks and dolphins books, go back to the Jurassic time with dinosaur books, or make connections and discuss characters with fairy tales.

Students will not only be learning reading skills with these books, but they will be also learning writing skills. Once we have read and worked on reading skills, We will be discussing text and self connections and discussing vocabulary meanings through writing.
