My Students

I teach 4th grade in rural Utah. I have students at varying reading levels ranging from above 4th grade to well below grade level. A large majority of my students are from low income families with various cultural backgrounds. Many lack the reading material they need to really grow as readers.

My Project

The best way to improve reading fluency and comprehension is to read more. These books will motivate my students to do the daily reading they need to become stronger readers. They will be reading books they love, which will help them learn to love reading!

I want my students to fall in love with reading and all it takes is for them to find the right book.

These books will give my students choice and allow them to read at their own independent level. This project will increase their positive experiences with books.
