Our students are part of a Special Day classroom who come from the southern part of Sacramento and Elk Grove. Our class is very diverse. All of our students need a high level of adult support to make progress on their individual goals.
Our students love coming to school and our staff loves providing our students with a learning rich environment to explore and learn.
Our students enjoy being engaged in activities that are motivating and fun. Our students have an "I can do it myself" attitude and want to feel successful in doing as much as possible independently.
My Project
These materials will enhance our special needs classroom by providing colorful paper, adapted scissors and markers, and fun alphabet "bubbles" for our water table.
Our students benefit from materials that are bright and fun as they work on early literacy, communication, and fine motor skills through art and sensory activities.
Our students enjoy a variety of sensory activities that offer opportunities to explore and learn from their world. All of our students have fine motor challenges and art and sensory projects keep them motivated to reach, grasp, and manipulate materials.
Some of our students have visual challenges and the tactile matching fish are a good way to learn matching skills through touch. The float and find alphabet bubbles will be a great addition to our water table offering students a chance to learn their alphabet and practice verbal skills by imitating letter sounds.
