Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Unique, energetic, determined and curious are just a few words to describe my 3rd graders. Most of my students have many things going on in their lives that could and do prevent them from learning. Helping students overcome those outside obstacles, even if it is just for a day or an hour is amazing to see. Some of these students have been through more tragedy and loss than most of us will see in a lifetime. Their willingness to push forward and thrive is inspiring.
My Project
This year our third grade students get two teachers instead of one! They begin their day in their homeroom class where they learn about either reading or math/science. Then in the afternoons they switch to learn about the other subject.
Since this is something that is very new for them (and for us) we are working on staying organized.Unfortunately, students are having a hard time keeping track of their materials.
With binders we would be able to teach students how to stay organized. We could make sure that they have a place to put things for each subject that they can carry back and forth with them. The binders will travel with the students so they always have what they need on hand!
With a place to store the binders for each classroom it would make it easier for students to switch rooms and store their binders in each room with ease!
