My Project

Each day, I work with students from all over our school who are struggling with some aspect of school or learning. Our school is 100% fluorescent lights and many students have headaches and fatigue from the lights. Additionally, we live in a part of the country where we get much less sunlight in the late fall, winter, and early spring months. This means many of my students also show signs of seasonally lower moods and even depression. My students come to school every day, despite whatever is happening in their lives, and are trying their best. I love that they don't give up! I really want to improve their learning environment by reducing eye strain from the overhead lights with the covers, and by creating "light therapy stations" where students can do some work while also getting their daily dose of sunlight.
