Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Imagine a regular classroom full of 20 or so students at a time. Sitting perfectly, hands crossed, both feet on the floor, silent and staring right into your soul waiting for knowledge to be imparted... This is not my class!
Picture a group of 20 or so adorable characters - excited, friendly, eager to learn, jumping up or doing a dance when they 'get it'; those are my kids!
They have a love for learning, and they also have tons of personality and energy to burn.
My Project
Children need to move and be comfortable when they're learning, so when they are working on an assignment (especially on something important during which they need to focus), guess where about a third of the kids end up... on the FLOOR, lol! They sprawl out on their belly, lay on their back, curl up in a corner, sit with their knees tight into their chest against the wall... but they are thinking hard. I feel that some of these seating options are going to allow them to be more comfortable and clean? at the end of the day, haha. The jumps for joy, huge quiet grins, the dances, the group hugs.... all those will be documented when our wish is granted on here through your donations. Thanks!
