Our mission as fifth-grade teachers is to ignite a spark within our scholars to become life-long learners and problem solvers, using our collective strengths to grapple with struggles and failures, persevering to succeed in life.

My Project
As a teacher, I long to light scholars spark for learning and encourage them to keep it lit themselves as lifelong learners. As I interact with more children in education, I see that their approach to learning has become stagnant within the confines of the classroom. They love to learn and are fascinated with new ideas, but the curriculum is not being presented in engaging ways. Attending Get Your Teach On provides educators with the opportunity to experience the "magic" that can happen in a classroom. We learn instructional practices that are directly aligned to Common Core Standards to increase our scholars' desire to learn, amp up academic rigor, and challenge scholars to think beyond the standards!
GYTO will empower and prepare me to create dynamic lessons that will leave scholars hungry for more.
