The majority of the students at my school are from a low-income community, I try to make the curriculum as engaging and rigorous for them so that they are provided with multiple opportunities for active learning.
As a class, we form a community and classroom culture that cultivates the love for learning, like an extended family.
Each day, students build on others' strengths and learn from one another. Working as a team to succeed, students continuously motivate and encourage their friends to reach their highest potential.
First graders are naturally curious and love to learn about the world around them. I am thankful to teach in a very diverse district. I have the pleasure of working with a dynamic group of students, including low-income students, specials needs, and English Language Learners.
My Project
I am an educator who loves learning and who is always open minded to learning something fresh and new. I believe that students deserve the best of the best of learning opportunities and by attending this conference, I am extremely excited to see the new ideas from professionals. I will have the chance to learn research-based strategies for student engagement, classroom management, as well as reading, math, writing, and vocabulary instruction. The conference is led by Deanna Jump, Hope King, Wade King, Amy Lemons, and other expert presenters who will share their passion and enthusiasm for education. I cannot wait to learn some new tips, tricks, best practices, and other teacher secrets to building a successful and engaging classroom.
