Get Miss B. to Get Your Teach On National Conference!
I need to pay for the conference fee, travel, and lodging while I am at GYTO. The conference fee alone is high, and the remaining money will be used to help cover travel expenses.
Three years ago, I began teaching at a Title 1 school with students that come from different backgrounds, cultures, and socioeconomic statuses. Although there are various challenges for these kiddos, they come to school ready to learn and engage in the content being taught that day. These children work hard and give their best day in and day out, regardless of what might be happening in their lives.
I am beyond blessed to be able to spend my days with these amazing kids and guide them through their academic journey.
They have taught me so much and have challenged me to be the best version of myself. I could not love my job more!
My Project
Education is constantly sprinkled with challenges of all different shapes and sizes. With large class sizes, technology integration, blended learning pushes, and students with various needs, it is crucial for teachers to stay on top of their game to make sure all kids are getting what they need.
In my classroom, I try my best to use student strengths and interests to teach, which is the exact focus of Get Your Teach On.
I was able to attend one of their smaller conferences this last year and it changed the way I viewed teaching. After implementing a few practices I learned from the conference in my own classroom, the engagement has been taken to a new level and my kids are more excited than ever to see what I have planned for the day. This conference brings teachers back into the classroom as students and provides a hands-on experience to learn alongside some of the best educators in the country.
