I work with a wonderful group of 5th grade students. They are in love with learning and creating. One of the best parts about students this age is the way they embrace new ideas and start forming their own opinions about serious topics. The school I work at is not a Title 1 school, meaning we do not receive any extra funding and often times rely heavily on parents, PTA, and our own paychecks to pay for the supplies on our classroom. My Project
I am requesting a collection of the 2018-2019 Golden Sower Nominee books for my classroom. These books have proved to be engaging books year after year. In the classroom we use these books as mentor texts for both reading and writing. These books include multiple engaging novels.
The goal is to encourage students to become life-long readers.
When these books are at hand students are more apt to get lost in a good book. I never hesitate to recommend Golden Sower Nominee books to my students because of their reputation of being such wonderful books.
I currently have all Golden Sower Nominee books from 2012-2017 in my library. With this project, I would be able to add the 2018-2019 Golden Sower Nominee collection to my classroom library.
