Get Hooked on a Book With a Nook!

My students need two Nook eReaders for a new way to experience literature.

My Students

Do you remember the first book you fell in love with? Many of my students have not fallen in love with reading yet. They need a wide range of reading choices that two Nook eReader's can provide.

My students attend a charter school in California.

The advances in technology have left my class in the dust. Many don't respond to the typical paperbacks. Technology is the way to the future! Reading and having books on Nooks is the smart, green way to go. They are cheaper than purchasing new books and children years to come can enjoy Books on Nooks! My students have different difficulties in reading. Some find that looking at a novel is overwhelming and only brings despair. However, when they look at the Nook, they are intrigued and find themselves reading classics within moments. I believe that allowing them to use the Nooks in my classroom will inspire their confidence in their abilities to read.

My Project

I want to instill the love for books and technology in my seventh graders' everyday lives. Nooks are the smart, green way to go! Nooks are cheaper and more durable than paperback/hardback books. Children for years to come can enjoy these books on Nooks. The Nook has a built in dictionary that they can also use to improve their vocabulary. They are used to computer formats, so the Nook's format is non-threatening.

This project is extremely important and will make a huge difference in the teaching world.

Having every book available at the click of a button will be a helpful resource when doing projects or just everyday reading. The Nooks will help teach children about technology and using technology to their own advantage. I am very excited about this project! Thank you!
