I have amazing students who love to learn, think, explore, and read.
I work at a Title I rural school.
I teach ELAR to all the 4th graders in our school...about 35 students this year. My students are wonderful, curious kids. Lots of them spend their evenings and weekends helping their parents take care of cattle, other livestock, and drive tractors. They get to experience the "country life" that most kids only hear about.
My students love to come to school to learn new and exciting things. They love to read and explore new activities. Like most kids their age, technology is also one of their favorite pastimes! I work every day to inspire them to work toward their dreams and be all they can be!
My Project
My students love to read and take AR tests. They also love to research. The last six weeks of school, we spend our social studies time researching Texas history and creating a book for each child. This requires each student to have some sort of device to research with. This is where the Kindle Fires come in hand. Students would be able to use them in the room to research. We have a computer lab, but it is often busy with a class. This would allow 10 students in my class to be able to use tablets while the others are researching in books. Technology has become such a major part of learning, and I want to make sure my students have the same resources as others! These Kindle Fires would be a great addition to my classroom for my students to use for class.
