My students need Best-Buy Colored Pencils and Crayons, Fadeless Paper Rolls, Best-Buy Glue with Pump and a complete set of Reading & Writing Skills Folder Game Libraries.
Every day is an exciting learning day in my 2nd grade ESL classroom. My students come from many different countries and are learning English as a second language. They are motivated to succeed and are willing to work hard to achieve language acquisition and grammar skills.
We are a Title l elementary school in Brooklyn's East New York.
All our students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Budget monies for ESL classrooms are very limited and many of my supplies have been purchased by me. I want to give my students the basic supplies to read and write to strengthen their phonics, grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehension skills. These materials will give each student what they need to learn and create!
My Project
My students will use the crayons, colored pencils and glue to create learning-based projects that reinforce basic grammar, phonics and reading/writing skills. I will set up multiple Language and Reading Centers with tasks and games that extend the content taught during whole group instruction. In addition, student work will be submitted to their portfolios for assessment and tracking.
My students are an amazing group of 2nd graders who are determined to learn English and move upwards and forward.
