Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
All of my children learn math, science, and technology from me. Although they have similar traits, it is because of those traits that they have diverse backgrounds. Their family struggles are brought to school. However, they will succeed with your help.
Some of them have learning difficulties, they live in poverty, and all qualify to receive free lunch.
They are all ELL students. My kids work very hard to overcome all the struggles that they are facing at such a young age. They will overcome the many challenges that they bring from home and outperform the expectations they have of themselves.
My Project
My students need three Chromebook because there are not enough computers in the classroom for them to use. With these computers, my students will participate in teams to build their own projects, all while learning about technology implementation in the classroom. I got this idea from Ms. Davey, a teacher from New York who seem very passionate about her teaching.
Giving low-income students access to new technology is an investment in their future and allowing them to create STEAM projects will prepare them for their future careers.
This technology will get my students to pursue computer science and other STEAM-related fields. I want to incorporate Google Classroom into our math class, and these Chromebooks would make it easier for us to be able to access technology for learning and applying math. In order for the students to be successful, they should have access to a 21st century classroom. They will be able to do research on the computer and make presentations. They will also be able to use them for district required programs that they have to do every day.
