My Students

I am lucky enough to teach science to third through sixth grade students, and I get to watch their excitement as they learn about the world around them. Everyday, students who come to the science lab, participate in hands-on, inquiry based investigations that help them learn about science concepts.

I have two hundred and ninety-four students; all of whom love to learn!

Many come from low-income households, single parent households, or speak English as a second language. When they walk into the science lab, they are smiling and engaged. My students range from third through sixth grade and are all curious and excited about learning.

My Project

Students love doing science investigations! Currently, in order to do some of our experiments, I have to run multiple power cords in ways that are unsafe. There are tripping hazards and fire hazards.

Help my students experience scientific investigations safely!

They use microscopes to learn about cells, heat lamps to learn about thermodynamics and heat transfer, and hot plates to learn about convection currents. These hands on activities allows them to understand abstract science content and gives them the skills necessary to succeed in careers that utilize science and technology.

Students are excited to learn, and sometimes their equipment needs electricity. Please give my students the connections that they need!
