My students need an LCD TV to use to view videos and images to support their learning.
Our classroom is an active learning environment. We use hands-on labs, sing songs to learn concepts, and use manipulatives whenever possible to take curriculum off the pages of books requiring students to use their senses to experience concepts.
This project is for 105 fifth grade students.
Our school is one of 17 elementary schools in a city with a population of 140,000. Currently we have 33 students in each 5th grade class. Science materials are not supplied by our school's budget. Text books and limited resources are available.
We have a microscope that can be plugged into a monitor which would enable the entire class to see the images. All we need is the LCD TV for a monitor. Currently we only have 3 microscopes and with a class of 35 students, it is difficult to find the time to have every student sufficient time to view and record their finding with the microscope. There are also many images that can be accessed through the MacBook that will be available for students to view.
We need students that are interested in science to become our future doctors, scientists, engineers, and other careers that require technology to enable them to experience what that career would be like.
Our books are outdated, we need to bring current materials to our students now.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
