My Students

To say I teach would be only half of what I do in a day. I consider myself a learner alongside my 18 fantastic first graders.

Every day, we all learn together.

We are a community, a family really, and we push each other to do our best: to do our best at math, to do our best at reading, to do our best at phonics, and to do our best at being a good friend and part of a larger community.

My Project

With 6 year olds, we spend a lot of our time on the floor. We learn, create, read, write, build all while sitting on the floor. It's just natural for kids. Our current classroom floor is linoleum that is cold in the winter, so I would like to add a spacious, durable, and comfortable rug to our classroom space that we can use daily! Students generally like to lay on the rug while reading or working with a partner and this one is large enough to fit many students! No more fighting over who gets to be on the comfy rug.

This Flagship Handwriting Samplers Rug also is a great reference for students in letter writing.

What a great anchor point for our classroom where students are learning to read and write with leaps and bounds.
