My students need a new carpet that’s clean and inviting for our classroom.
This project expired on December 9, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
As a teacher in a low-income part of a large city, my students are faced with many struggles each and every day. School should not be a struggle. School should be a place of learning and adventure. I work hard to ensure this is achieved.
My students are energetic, highly creative, and eager to learn.
I work at a Title 1 school in Brooklyn. Although some students face many difficulties such as reading below grade level and are in jeopardy of repeating their current grade, my students work hard every day in reading, writing, math, and social studies. They have smiles on their faces and work together to solve problems. However, with limited support from home, I have to be the person to get their reading levels up, pass mandated state testing, and help with homework and school projects. I work hard to inspire my students to want to achieve greatness!
This carpet will add a fresh look to the classroom. Out with the old, dirty, and worn carpet and in with a new, inviting place to learn. Everyday, my students come to the carpet for a mini lesson for reading, writing, and math. During independent reading, students want to stretch out and relax on the carpet.
The carpet should be a magical place where learning takes place.
Wouldn’t you want to sit at an area that invites your imagination to run wild? Wouldn’t you want to be comfortable while learning? My students would love to have this new carpet. With your help, this could be a reality.
